Dear Fellow Congregant:

Your membership commitment provides the resources that support our very special Jewish community. Consciously creating community and connections is the very heart of MLRT. Be it sharing together in life’s joys and simchas, supporting one another through life’s challenges and sorrows, working together to repair and mend our too often broken world, or searching together for meaning and purpose, it is consciously creating community, relationships and connections that drive all that we do. MLRT is a strong, vital and growing congregation. We are more than prepared to weather the economic challenges that exist outside our doors because so many of our congregants value the fact that their MLRT membership connects them to a compassionate and caring community that is there for them throughout life’s milestones, challenges and celebrations.

MLRT welcomes anyone to join and remain a part of our congregation, at income-based rates and regardless of ability to pay. No one will be turned away from our doors because of financial need. Our "Fair Share" membership commitment structure encourages each of us to evaluate our capacity to participate financially in the strength of our congregation. We urge you to strive to participate at the highest possible level based on your family’s current abilities, and we ask that you please consider increasing your membership commitment to the next level. It is our sacred obligation to support our community and your contribution ensures that MLRT’s vital community, programming and services will continue.

We are aware that, for many, these last few years have been economically challenging. In order to support our core value of turning no one away due to financial need, we rely on the generosity of members of our MLRT community to do what they have graciously done since our founding – to contribute more so that we keep our hearts and doors open to all. Please consider making a voluntary contribution to MLRT above and beyond your membership commitment. Members who make a voluntary contribution of $2,500 or more above their membership commitment are recognized as our “Temple Guardians.” Your donations will be used for only one urgent purpose – to ensure that all who wish to join us are able to be members of our vital and caring community. We appreciate those in the congregation who help us to make this possible and we are grateful for your generosity and support.

If you are unable to meet the minimum membership commitment or are in need of tuition assistance, please know that we are here for you and that we are committed to ensuring your continued participation in our MLRT community. Please contact our Executive Director, Melissa Johnson, at or 610-649-7800, or our Financial Secretary, Rachel Lester, at We are committed to assisting you in a sensitive and completely confidential manner.

All congregants should be aware that membership commitment payments are due with membership registration and school enrollment forms. High Holy Day tickets will not be mailed until payments have been made in full or in accordance with an approved installment plan. Likewise, students may not register for or attend Religious School, Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring or Early Childhood Education programs until all Religious School, Bar/Bat Mitzvah and ECE fees have been paid in full or in accordance with an approved installment plan.

As you renew your membership, please come and join us for a service or program, come to Torah study, talk to your fellow congregants, or visit your clergy and your staff.  We encourage you to participate in and feel part of your congregation. Let us celebrate together all that our vibrant MLRT community has to offer.
