Shabbat and Holiday Services

Shiru Shir Chadash: Family Shabbat Service

This lively service is led by our clergy and Ross M. Levy and features a live band.  Students in each grade of our Religious School have the opportunity to participate in this monthly service, which often includes our Junior Jammers youth choir.  Our Family Shabbat Service is held the first Friday of each month from September through June.

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

There are many opportunities for families with school-aged children to participate in our High Holy Day services. Options include: attending our Contemporary Morning Service at Lower Merion High School, our Musical Youth Service in the Green Family Chapel, and our Afternoon Family Service in the Sanctuary. Additionally, MLRT provides child care for our youngest members on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Morning and Kol Nidre so parents can participate in our main Sanctuary services.

Sukkot

Main Line Reform Temple’s unique approach to celebrating Sukkot includes building and decorating five Sukkot on our property and lending ten Sukkot to members of our community to set-up in their backyards. Come enjoy a meal in our one our beautiful Sukkot or sign-up to take one home and invite your family and friends over to enjoy this harvest holiday.

Simchat Torah

Celebrate the Torah with the MLRT community on Simchat Torah.  Youth of all ages are invited to participate in our Torah Parade and dance the night away at our annual community celebration.

Purim

Grab your costume and grogger and make your way to MLRT to celebrate Purim, the most festive of all Jewish holidays.  Purim celebrations span a full week, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to see a Purim Shpiel and hear the Megillah. Our community Purim Carnival is our annual Religious School fundraiser and the highlight of many of our students.
